BDO has advised Beyond Capital Partners GmbH (‘BCP’) on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in tech-enabled Content Service Provider ORENDT STUDIOS Holding GmbH (‘ORENDT’), headquartered in Hamburg, via its Beyond Capital Partners Fund III, a fund advised by BCP.  

BDO has advised Borromin and its portfolio company QITS GmbH („QITS“) on the acquisition of GERMO GmbH EDV Beratung und Dienstleistungen, Handel und Vertrieb („GERMO“), a document generation and multi-channel output management software business.  

BDO has advised Lenbach Equity Opportunities III GmbH & Co. KG (‘LEO III Fonds’), a fund exclusively advised by DUBAG Group, on the acquisition of Ampack GmbH and Osgood Industries LLC.  

BDO has advised private equity specialist capiton AG and its portfolio company KD Pharma Group, a leading CDMO (Contract Manufacturing Organisation) in pharmaceutical and nutritional lipids, on the acquisition of the Marine Lipids business from dsm-firmenich, an innovator in the fields of nutrition, health and beauty.

Diversity is becoming increasingly important - this has also reached the boardroom. However, the majority of companies still lack appropriate measures to promote diversity in their reporting. Active Capital Company (ACC) becomes major shareholder of SCHUMAG AG (SCHUMAG).

BDO has advised Beyond Capital Partners GmbH („BCP“) on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Stuttgart-based ECD International Holding GmbH (‘ECD’) via its Beyond Capital Partners Fund III.  

A transaction advisory team from BDO under the leadership of Matthias Meyer (M&A), Steffen Eube (Corporate Finance/Transaction Services) and Sandro Schwenke (Transaction Tax) advised Green Landscaping Group AB (Nasdaq: GREEN), a leading provider of landscaping and maintenance services of outdoor environments, on the acquisition of Schmitt & Scalzo GmbH.

As of 1 July 2023, the experienced BDO board members Andrea Bruckner and Parwäz Rafiqpoor have taken over the chairmanship of BDO AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft as dual leaders. They succeed Dr Holger Otte, who announced a few weeks ago that he would hand over the operational management of the company after 13 successful years as CEO and a total of 40 years at BDO. He will continue to closely accompany the future development of BDO in Germany and will also remain closely connected to it as an anchor shareholder. 

A multinational team from BDO has advised Group De Ceuster (GroupDC), one of the leading manufacturers of organic fertilisers in Europe, on the acquisition of the Hawita Group. The aim of the acquisition is to combine the complementary product portfolios in order to provide customers with an even more efficient offering in the future. After the takeover, which was completed in May, the Hawita Group will continue to operate as an independent company under the GroupDC umbrella.

Software group Everfield has acquired the Saxon “VSX – Vogel Software GmbH”. This is the second acquisition in Germany on Everfield’s way to becoming a pan-European leader in B2B software for which Everfield again relied on a BDO Team.

An interdisciplinary team of BDO AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft ('BDO') has assisted Hamburger Energiewerke GmbH ('HEnW') in the acquisition of Vattenfall Heizkraftwerk Moorburg GmbH: HEnW now intends to establish a Green Hydrogen Hub at the site of the Moorburg coal-fired power plant, which was operated by Vattenfall but has since been decommissioned.

An international, multidisciplinary team from BDO has advised RWE, a world leader in renewables, on the acquisition of JBM Solar Limited, a leading solar development company focused on developing solar PV and co-located battery energy storage systems in the UK.

A team from BDO Germany led by René Titze advised RWE in the context of the successful closing of the acquisition of Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses, Inc., a leading operator and developer of renewable energy plants in the United States. RWE, a world leader in renewables, is thus continuing its growth course and almost doubles its renewable portfolio in the USA to 8 gigawatts of operating assets.  

An interdisciplinary transaction advisory team from BDO has provided comprehensive advice to SWK Stadtwerke Krefeld. The founder and managing partner of Kälte-Klima-Peters GmbH, Christoph Peters, will remain with the company at his own request and will continue to promote the innovative refrigeration and air conditioning activities of both companies under energy efficiency and climate protection aspects. The parties have agreed not to disclose any financial details.

BayWa AG has sold its majority share of 94.5% in Schradenbiogas GmbH & Co. KG ("Schradenbiogas") to BioCycling GmbH, a subsidiary of Veolia Umweltservice GmbH. BDO advised BayWa in this transaction by preparing a financial fact book and a fairness opinion.

A transaction advisory team from BDO led by Matthias Meyer (Corporate Finance/M&A) together with Martin Studier (Corporate Finance/Transaction Services) and Michael Brauer (Transaction Tax) advised Circularity Capital, the world’s largest specialist circular economy private equity fund, on the acquisition of an undisclosed stake in CERAFILTEC, as part of a €30m growth capital investment round.

A mutli-disciplinary transaction advisory team from BDO led by BDO M&A advised the folian shareholders. „We would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire transaction team at BDO," say the managing shareheolders of folian. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
